FAQ

1. When does Leuven Pride 2026 take place?

Leuven Pride will take place on Saturday 26 September 2026.

2. Where is the meeting point for the march?

We will meet on the Ladeuzeplein in the heart of the city at 3pm. The walk will start at 4pm.

3. How can I participate in activities, or volunteer?

We can always use a helping hand. Take a look at 'Help us' on our website where you'll find a list of everything you could help out with.

4. Why is there a Leuven Pride and who can join?

Leuven pride stands for visibility, connection and activism - not only partying, but also a protest against discrimination. Everybody's welcome - LGBTQIA+-people and allies - in an inclusive atmosphere that stimulates openness and meeting each other.

5. Rules for participating with Leuven Pride

Leuven Pride is the perfect opportunity to show our pride together and highlight the message of the LGBTQI+ community in the heart of our city. We are happy to welcome as many organizations and associations as possible as allies in our colorful parade.

To ensure that the Leuven Pride Walk remains a warm, safe, and festive celebration for everyone, we ask all participants to respect these three key points:

1. No hateful or discriminatory expressions

No racist, discriminatory, or violent remarks or behavior. The message of Leuven Pride is one of safety, both online and on the streets. Equality, love, inclusion, and respect for everyone form the foundation of this message.

We'll be keeping an eye out at the start and during the parade and will speak to people when necessary. If you see something that's hateful or discriminatory, please report it to the Safer Space Team or to one of our Leuven Pride volunteers, who can be recognized by their Leuven Pride button.

2. No political parties

are allowed during the parade. This ensures that the focus remains on the LGBTQI+ community, our shared message, and our pride.

Of course, as a member of a political party, you're welcome to join the march. However, we do expect you to do so out of your personal support for the Pride message and not as a representative of your political party. Party-political communication or campaigning during the parade is not permitted.

3. No commercial organizations

The Leuven Pride Walk is not a venue for commercial promotion or advertising. Commercial organizations may participate as allies, but commercial messages, promotional activities, or advertising during the parade are not permitted.

Together, we'll ensure that Leuven Pride remains a colorful, safe, and inclusive celebration, where the message of the LGBTQI+ community takes center stage.

6. Can my event be part of the Leuven Pride program?

At this time, we are not adding any new events to the official 2026 Leuven Pride program. However, we are currently working on a framework for the next Leuven Pride in 2027.

If you are organizing an event during this year's Leuven Pride, we'd love to hear from you and will feature it in our communications as "also during Leuven Pride." Please send us all the details at info@leuvenpride.be.

When evaluating an event in the future, we will consider the event's content, as well as its communication, accessibility, and measures regarding safety and well-being. Based on this, the Leuven Pride team will decide whether and under what conditions an event can be included in the program.

Pride is for all of us.
Pride is protest*.
Pride is connection.

*Protest (from Latin: pro is 'for', testari is 'to witness') means expressing concern about political or social injustice. Hoping to spark change.

WE'LL MAKE LEUVEN PRIDE TOGETHER

We expect 2500 people and we want to be organized.
